Hi Gents,    The November 2023 luncheon is being held at Besk in West Leederville!   The establishment is named after the old danish term Besk, describing a type of flavour profile, and highlighting their commitment towards ingredients (and community experiences) free of unnecessary pretension.   The space invites co-owner and Mane Liquor's resident booze hound, Elliot Moore, a second outlet to showcase his love of craft drinking and producers. Moore and chef, Gerard Mitchell, are dedicated to serving only quality ingredients from trusted local farmers. Hi Gents,  Our big fundaising lunch at The Raffles is this Friday. Charlie is a 14-year-old Perth boy who was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a rare genetic disease, at the age of eight. For the past six years, his parents, Barry & Kristy, have fought an unrelenting and costly battle to give their son the best life possible. There won't be a dry eye in the place when you hear their story!   We’ll be looking to surpass the amazing fund-raising efforts of last year with several live auctions and some fantastic raffle prizes! For those that haven't been before, this is not a lunch to miss!!   Soren (chef) and Sabine (service) came from Hamburg to Perth in 1999 after 10 years in top restaurants including a Michelin Star, and after 10 years at their George Street Bistro in East Fremantle, they opened Juniper & Bay in 2014.   More recently, TripAdvisor named them the no. 1 fine dining restaurant in Australia - the Travellers' Choice "Best of the Best" for 2021. They have continued to expand their food and drink empire to include Juanita's Bar in Subiaco in 2018, and King Somm in 2019.    King Somm, much like their other two venues, is about that 'neighbourhood bar' atmosphere - a place where the staff know your name and the place feels like home. Princi and his team have worked hard to create a cruisy and laid-back style to their restaurants and bars, creating a welcoming place that everyone can enjoy.    The head chef at Juanita's and King Somm will be joing us for a delicious afternoon. For entree, we can expect vitello tonnato and pickled mushroom with a rosemary crumb. Its 120-year history features funky art deco spaces alongside its famous riverside beer garden.
